Our Story
Our names are Brett & Casey McManus and we want to personally welcome you to Après Inn!
We are two skiers & bikers who were fortunate enough to catch the entrepreneurship bug in our early twenties. After gaining a few years of experience working in the real estate & hospitality industries, we constantly found ourselves driving past outdated motels all over New England thinking how cool it would be to bring one back to life.
As we reflected on some of our most memorable trips, they all included some form of "Après" where the fun didn't have to stop once the mountain closed. We spent time brain storming a lodging solution that could enhance the vacation for any outdoor enthusiast and the idea for Après Inn was born.
After a year of searching for the right space to bring this dream to life, we found ourselves at the Happy Bear Motel in Killington, VT and knew we had the perfect match.
Creating Après Inn
Turns out, taking the oldest motel in town and turning it into a fun & comfortable place to stay isn't exactly straight forward!
As we embarked on our renovation journey, we discovered many old & outdated aspects of the property needing to be updated. Fortunately, we had an amazing team of local craftsman, electricians, and plumbers who came together for creative solutions to enhance this old building while also giving it the exact Vermont mountain flavor we were hoping for.
While things definitely needed to look a bit scary before getting better, the end result was an incredible guest room providing the exact levels of comfort & function that we aimed to deliver for those who stay!
Our Mission
Regardless of the activity bringing you to Killington, our aim is to provide the perfect lodging solution to enhance your adventure.
The Après Inn will place you in the heart of Killington's activity providing you the perfect basecamp to operate out of for the day's adventure and the evening's dining & nightlife.
